Cookie Policy

In plain English: cookies are small files that help our website work and help us understand how it is used. We only set non-essential cookies (analytics, social and marketing) with your consent, and you can change your mind at any time. This policy covers cookies only. For everything else about your data, see our Privacy Policy.

1. Cookie Overview

This Cookie Policy (“Policy”) describes what cookies are and how Automate Horizon (“we”, “us”, or “our”) uses them on our website and any of our products or services (collectively, the “Website” or “Services”).

You should read this Policy so you understand what types of cookies we use, the information we collect using cookies, and how that information is used. It also describes the choices available to you regarding accepting or declining cookies. This Policy covers cookies and similar technologies only. For full details of how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data, and the rights you have over it, please see our Privacy Policy, which governs in the event of any overlap.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small pieces of data stored in text files that are saved on your computer or other device when websites load in a browser. They are widely used to remember you and your preferences, either for a single visit (through a “session cookie”) or for multiple repeat visits (using a “persistent cookie”).

• Session cookies: temporary cookies used during your visit to the Website. They expire when you close your browser.
• Persistent cookies: these remember your preferences and remain on your device after you close your browser or restart your computer, so we can provide a consistent and efficient experience on future visits.

Cookies may be set by the Website (“first-party cookies”), or by third parties such as those who serve content, advertising, or analytics services on the Website (“third-party cookies”). These third parties may recognise you when you visit our Website and when you visit certain other websites.

3. What Types of Cookies Do We Use?

Strictly necessary cookies: these allow us to offer you a secure, functioning Website and to provide the features you request. For example, they let us recognise that you have created an account and logged in to access content. The Website cannot function properly without these cookies, so they do not require your consent.

Functionality cookies: these let us operate the Website and Services in line with the choices you make. For example, we can recognise your username and remember how you customised the Website during future visits.

Analytical and performance cookies: these enable us and third-party services to collect aggregated data for statistical purposes on how visitors use the Website. They help us improve your experience. We treat these as non-essential and only use them with your consent.

Social media and marketing cookies: third-party cookies from social media platforms (such as Meta/Facebook, X/Twitter, and others) let those networks recognise users when they visit our Website, use our Services, or share content, through tagging mechanisms those networks provide. They are also used for event tracking and remarketing. Any data collected is used in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the relevant network’s privacy policy. We treat these as non-essential and only use them with your consent.

4. Your Consent and Choices

Strictly necessary cookies are always active. For all other cookies, your choices depend on where you are located.

United Kingdom and European Union

Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), the UK GDPR, the EU ePrivacy Directive, and the EU GDPR, we only place non-essential cookies (functionality, analytics, and social media and marketing cookies) after you have given your consent. We ask for this consent through a cookie banner shown when you first visit the Website. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the cookie settings on the Website or your browser controls. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdrew it.

United States

We do not sell your personal information for money. Some US state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, and comparable laws in states such as Virginia, Colorado, and Connecticut, treat certain cookie-based data sharing for targeted advertising as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. Where these laws apply, you have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and of the use of cookies for cross-context behavioural advertising. You can exercise this right through our cookie banner, and we honour recognised opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control (GPC), where required by law.

Managing cookies in your browser

Wherever you are located, you can also change your browser settings to delete cookies that have already been set and to refuse new cookies. Please note that deleting cookies or disabling future cookies may prevent you from accessing certain areas or features of our Services, such as staying logged in to your account.

To learn more about how to manage cookies, visit allaboutcookies.org. UK visitors can also find guidance from the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

5. Changes and Amendments

We may modify this Policy at any time, effective when we post an updated version on the Website. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Where a change materially affects non-essential cookies, we will seek your consent again where the law requires it.

6. Consent and Acceptance

Strictly necessary cookies are always active because the Website cannot function without them. For all other cookies, we rely on your consent, which you give through our cookie banner and can withdraw at any time. Simply continuing to use the Website is not treated as consent to non-essential cookies.
